Aromas San Juan Fiber Project Update
Here’s where things stand for the week of June 22, 2026.
Permits
We’re still waiting on Caltrans. Four permits remain outstanding, and we’re working diligently with them to get these in hand. The moment we receive approval, we’ll move.
San Juan Road
Crews are blowing fiber this week. That’s exactly what it sounds like. Using compressed air, we’re pushing fiber strands through conduit we’ve already placed. We’ve got about 12,000 feet left to go and expect to have this stretch wrapped up by the end of the week.
Splicing in San Juan
Crews will be out this week splicing, the careful work of joining fiber strands together so signal can travel across the network.
We’re also hoping to light up our first customer this week. First light on the network is a major milestone, and we’ll share the news as soon as it happens.
Tarpey Road
We’re tidying up this section by placing boxes and fiber markers as we complete construction activities.
Tumbleweed Neighbors
You may notice PG&E, AT&T, and other utility crews marking streets and properties this week.
This is a normal and required part of the construction process. Before any digging begins, underground utilities must be located and marked so crews can work safely around gas, electric, water, sewer, phone, and cable infrastructure.
You’ll see colored paint and small flags along roads and possibly on your property. These markings are temporary and there is nothing you need to do. We simply ask that you leave the markings in place until construction is complete.
What the Colors Mean
Red = Electric
Yellow = Gas
Orange = Phone or Cable
Blue = Water
Green = Sewer
White = Proposed Dig Area
Safety Reminder
With crews, trucks, equipment, and flaggers working throughout the area, please slow down and give them a little extra room. We appreciate your help keeping everyone safe.
